Woody The Woodpecker's Nose...

Last night Brenton and I were watching Woody The Woodpecker (It's on Hulu) and he came up with a very good question. First he asked me things like, how does a woodpecker talk, and why doesn't the bear like the penguin, etc... Then he asked me "If Woody's nose is on his mouth where are his boogers? Do they come out of his throat?". Gross... I told him I didn't know and the conversation just went downhill from there... Do you think he eats his boogers? Do all animals eat boogers? I like to eat boogers...

School Closings...

It has been a tough week. I have a lot on my mind. Monday morning I woke up, got Brenton dressed and ready for school and waited with him for the bus for 45 minutes! I came back in, made an angry phone call to my husband, because he had our son's booster seat and I was unable to drive him to school. It was snowing so I checked online and couldn't find a single closing or cancellation in the state! I posted my frustrations on Facebook to get an almost immediate response of "Today is a holiday, there is no school". My mother then reposted my error, and everyone has had a good laugh.

Well, today I woke up, got Brenton dressed, cleared off my car because we got a lot of snow overnight. Just as we were set to walk out the door I decided to check the school website. Sure enough, there's no school today. I ALMOST did it again... Twice in one week!!!

The best part about it is Brenton said he knew he had no school on Monday. He said his teacher told everyone on Friday, but he thought it was a secret!!!

He's playing too many video games...

First, you must understand that my husband is a big "gamer". It must be genetic, because our five year old son, Brenton, is an avid Star Craft player. Surprisingly he is very good. I try and keep it somewhat educational by password protecting his computer so he has to type his name to log on. He also has to enter his own cheat codes which I have written for him and pinned up next to his computer.

Well, tonight I was doing a little cleaning in the livingroom and I took the glass out of our coffee table and this peaked my son's interest so he decided to come "keep an eye on me". He was babbling on about everything under the sun while I was cleaning the "crud" that got down under the rim of the glass. He had to go pee, but didn't want to miss anything and asked me "Can you pause that table for a minute. I'll be right back.".

Obviously, he doesn't play online games yet or he would know that pausing live situations is NOT allowed. I guess I'll have to wait a couple years for him to understand!

That's What Daddy Does...

A few weeks ago my son decided that the dog did something wrong. I don't even remember what it was... Anyway, later that day when I had all but forgotten about the dog and whatever he had done to anger my son, Brenton came and asked me "can I yell bad words at the dog?". I was a little shocked! I asked him what bad words and he told me a few options that all seamed "fitting", but I told him no. When I asked him why he would want to yell bad words at the dog he told me "That's what Daddy does...". He is so observant!

Brenton Peed On The Seat

Today I asked my son, Brenton, why there was pee all over the toilet seat. He told me that he was "peeing like a dog". I was so dumbfounded that he felt he actually needed to demonstrate for me and proceeded to lift his leg and show me how he did it... AMAZING....

Peyton Is A Good Dog

My daughter, Peyton, refers to good and bad things as "good dog" and "bad dog". She also has a thing about having a snack at bedtime of crackers and milk. So everyday at naptime and bedtime she tells me she needs "crackers, milk, and bed like a good dog". If she doesn't like something that her father or I said or did she will call us "bad dogs". She is too cute!
